Lynne Tracy has dedicated nearly 30 years to foreign service, including as the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia. Her interest in Armenia and the then-Soviet Union began during her freshman year, at the height of the Cold War.

Germanic and Slavic alum Marleena Tamminen awarded prestigious fellowship to Germany

Marleena Tamminen,  First Honor spring 2022 graduate with a dual degree in German and Economics, is one of 75 Americans selected to study and work in Germany as part of the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) for Young Professionals program – now in its 39th year.

Six Russian Flagship Students Awarded Boren Scholarship

The University of Georgia’s Morehead Honors College announced a record-breaking number of Boren Scholars, including six undergraduate students from the  Russian Flagship Program in the Department of Germanic & Slavic Studie
