Former Max Kade Foundation Artist-in-Residence Ilker Çatak's new film Das Lehrerzimmer, or "The Teachers' Lounge," won the best film at the German Film Awards this past Friday, May 12th. 

The Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies will begin offering a new study abroad program in Berlin starting July of 2024.

The Germanic & Slavic Department at U.G.A. congratulates alumnus Brandon Wyatt, who recently accepted a faculty position teaching undergraduate courses at the University of North Georgia. One of the classes he will teach will be about German Cinema.

Are you interested in improving your German this summer? Email Dr. Lee-Schoenfeld to participate in the UGA-Hannover Virtual Exchange (Video-Tandem) Program. Courses are either one credit hour (GRMN 2990) or non-credit.

The Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies is excited to announce a new Russian language study abroad program that will take place from June to July of 2024.
