One student's experience with online Study Abroad in Freiburg

The Red & Black student newspaper talked to students who had to pivot to online learning from their Study Abroad plans after the pandemic happened.

Like so many changes that have happened since COVID-19 became a part of lives worldwide, having to switch your study abroad experience to online classes is not what anybody envisioned. But students made the best of the situation, taking classes online from home, such as Dr. Heide Crawford's course that pivoted from Freiburg to Zoom rooms. The Red & Black talked to some students about their experiences, and GSS German faculty Dr. Crawford.

"Doing her best to deliver an immersive learning experience via an online format, Crawford altered her summer course curriculum to allow students to choose and research the areas of German culture that interested them the most," Crawford said.
