Roller Coasters, Sustainability, & the Car of the Future: Situating Language Learners in Authentic STEM Environments

Tracksdorf Flyer
Miller Learning Center 268
Lecture
Program

Join Dr. Niko Tracksdorf, Associate Director of the German International Engineering Program at the University of Rhode Island, as he discusses the intersection between STEM and language learning. "Foreign language educators focus not only on language acquisition, but also on nurturing students to become creative, intercultural, interdisciplinary and critical thinkers that can apply their skills in their current and future lives and careers. When language teachers embrace and integrate STEM and other topics into their foreign language classes, they can not only motivate students more effectively to pursue language studies but also increase learning outcomes." The event will conclude with a reception with light refreshments. Please contact Dr. Heide Crawford for any questions.
